Binaural beats were originally discovered in 1839. When two signals of different frequencies are presented separetely, using stereo headphones, the brain detects the phase variation between the frequencies and tries to "reconcile" that difference.
In doing so, the brain creates its own third signal - a binaural beat - equal to the difference between those two frequencies.
Research has proven that introducing a binaural beat will cause the brain to begin resonating in tune with the frequency of that beat.
Binaural beats may influence functions of the brain besides those related to hearing. They are used fairly extensively to induce a variety of states of consciousness. Among other alleged uses, there are reducing learning time and sleeping needs and some people find that half an hour in the theta state can reduce sleeping needs up to four hours. Some use them for lucid dreaming and even for attempting out-of-body experiences. Another claimed effect is enhanced learning ability.

Now its your turn to discover the amazing powers of binaural beats...

Features:

- 36 different brainwaves
- 7 different backgrounds

I dont know if it works. Doubt it however. Got it thinking it would be better then some of the free stuff. I regret it as the sound is to annoying to use the app as it just buzzes a high pitch tone inuo your head. You can barely hear the ambient sound through the binaural tones. Save your money. Try freebies.
Good sound quality
The sound quality is great, but the background loop has a noticeable transition. The listening experience is still terrific and the quality of the sounds is great. I like the information provided for the Beats selection, but its cumbersome to browse...I prefer the wheel selection that is used on the other apps; but I dont think it would be a worth giving up the additional information that this app provides. I looked for info or some other selection that would allow me to turnoff the startup splash screen but I couldn’t find any way to do it( it requires 2 touches to get open the app). It would be nice to have the splash screen go away and place the text in an info button instead. Overall, I like what has been done. I prefer this app over others that I have for use during the daytime. Showing the waveforms and changing the color is more enjoyable than I would have thought it would be.
Has potential, but...
I hope theyll improve it, a LOT. Another review mentioned that the binaurals themselves sound great. They really do. But the background loops with at least a 1-second gap -- EXTREMELY distracting, and for that reason alone I probably wont use it much. Theres also no white or pink noise option at all. I would also love to know why apps like this and the AmbiScience binaural will NOT work when anything from your music library is playing... yet Ambiance will. For that reason I usually wind up using binaural tones available in Ambiance mixed with some other dampening noise, coupled with relaxation or hypnosis tracks from my library. Id like to be able to do that with the more specific (and great quality) binaural tones in this app. Fix the awful background looping gap, add more/better backgrounds including pink noise, and this would rate at least 4 stars. Make it work with my music library... an easy 5.
Good But....
It would be nice to have a description telling you what a program does. For example, theres one program that saids "Headache Treatment" and then another that saids "Reduces Headaches". Whats the difference between the two programs? Does "Reduces Headaches" mean reducing the pain of headaches? Or How often they occur? Some programs are obivious to figure out but others youre not too sure what they do and how they do it. A brief description would be helpful.
Scary
It doesnt work, the app is flipping out on me and, it worked the first time and after that it went crazy ..... Lost my 2 dollar I would have been better of giving it to the guy at exit of the freeway.
